The Chateau is located in the heart of the La Clape appellation, and has been producing red, white and rose wine from the late 1700s. The estate was previously occupied by a royal garrison during the mid-19th Century, who were tasked with protecting the entrance to the Aude river, an important trading route.
The Fabre family took over Chateau d'Angles in 2002 (after re-uniting both parts of the separated estate), who quickly recognised the potential of the soil, climate and grape varieties to produce a range of wine that combines the best of traditional wine growing and modern techniques. Eric Fabre, the resident producer has an impressive track record, having gained many wine accolades both nationally and internationally, as well as probably most notably being the technical wine maker of Chateau Lafite Rothschild. A truly great producer with an air of savoir-faire, Chateau d'Angles wines will no doubt do more than impress.
