Brouilly
The largest of the Beaujolais crus, and named after Bruilius, a Roman Lieutenant who settled here, Brouilly has 1200 hectares of land, which are located in the south of the Beaujolais region, surrounding Mont Brouilly (a dormant volcano, which in turn has its own cru, Côte De Brouilly).
The characteristics of a Brouilly wine are typically light, fruity and slightly earthy, with it's aromas encompassing a variety of fruits including cherries and current with a purple colouring.
