Castillon Cotes de Bordeaux

Castillon Cotes de Bordeaux is located in Bordeaux, east of St. Emilion. The appellation is comprised of over 300 winegrowers, with 2,832 hectares under vine, with the main grapes being grown are Merlot and Cabernet Franc.

Due to the traditional farming methods used in the region, it has the highest concentration of growers using either Organic, Biodynamic or self-sustaining vineyard management.

Although this appellation gained official AOC status in 1989 as Côtes de Castillon, this sub region joined the Cotes De Bordeaux Appellation in 2008, becoming Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux.
