Montagne Saint Emilion
Three miles north of the town of St-Emilion, Montagne Saint Emilion encompasses 1,570 hectares of land along the banks of the Barbanne River, all used for the exclusive production of red wine.
The predominate grape within the region is Merlot, representing 75% of the planted area, with Cabernet Franc at 20% and Cabernet Sauvignon taking up around 5%. Montagne operates alongside three other sub-regions; Lussac St-Emilion, Puisseguin St-Emilion, and Saint Georges St-Emilion.
