Chateau du Glana
Château du Glana is located on the Route des Grands Vins running parallel to the Gironde estuary, between Beychevelle and Saint-Julien. The owner Jean-Paul Meffre operates the vineyard with help from his sons, Ludovic and Julien, with the aims to reach the potential of the 59 ha vineyard. Originally constructed in 1870 by Mr Nadeau, the vineyard only consisted of 5 ha. The main vines grown are Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, which are further matured in oak barrels. Most of the vines are more than 25 years old, with approximately 7,000 vines grown per ha.
