Graves
Located to the south of the Garonne river, and stretching for over 30 miles, the region's name is taken from the area's gravel soil. This allows the growing of predominately Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, and smaller amounts of Merlot and Cabernet Franc for the production of reds, and a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon for the whites, over 3,100 hectares across the appellation.
