Graves: Chateau Bousquet White

Situated in the beautiful South-West of France, Bordeaux is one of the country's largest wine-growing areas, covering over 125,000 hectares. With the Atlantic to the west, its coastal temperatures are moderated by the Gulf Stream, making it an ideal place for vines to thrive. The region produces a staggering 900 million bottles a year, ranging from large quantities of common Vin de Pays to some of the most prestigious and expensive wines in the world.

Located on the left bank to the south of the Garonne river and stretching for over 30 miles, the Graves appellation takes its name from the gravelly soils that define the area. Spread across some 3,100 hectares, these well-draining soils are ideal for red grapes, chiefly Cabernet Sauvignon with smaller amounts of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, producing structured, elegant reds with classic blackcurrant and cedar character. Graves is also notable for being one of the few Bordeaux regions equally renowned for its whites, made from a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon - fresh, aromatic, and sometimes barrel-aged. This dual reputation for fine reds and whites makes Graves one of Bordeaux's most distinctive appellations.
