The Fer Wine Grape

A speciality of the Marcillac appellation of the South West of France, Fer, otherwise known as Fer Servadou or Mansois, produces rustic red wines with a medium body. This grape also makes appearances in the Gaillac region, known in AOP.
This grape is known for being low in alcohol, firm tannins, and having cassis aromas. Fer best pairs with foods that are spicy or hold a charcoal like flavour, such as barbecued meats.
