Low yield and vines dating from 1905 contribute to this most fascinating and popular wine. The wine is deep and structured yet so easy to drink. It is dark in colour and has depth without being overpowering.
An ex-rugby player, Pierre Cros is known as the King of Concentration – so, unsurprisingly, his wines are full-bodied and entirely superb! Les Aspres regularly wins the coveted three-star award from Guide Hachette, and Pierre also produces a stunning red wine made with Carignan grapes.
Some of his vines were planted as far back as 1905, and the results are no less than historic - lookout, in particular, for the aptly named red Vieilles Vignes, and the highly recommended Minervois Tradition red, made with 5 different grapes.
