Touriga Nacional
Touriga Nacional is a dark-skinned grape variety, which originated from Portugal. The grape contributes firm tannins and the ability to age well in wine. This grape is traditionally blended to produce port.
The dominant flavours carried in this grape include, blueberry, plumb, mint, and violet. Touriga Nacional consists of a high acidity, body, tannin and alcohol levels. This grape pairs best with; steaks, goat, or chocolate (if the wine is fortified).

Niepoort Colheita 1997Beautiful colour of orange tones and brick with good depth. The aroma and palate show the maturity of the wine, due to the long ageing in small old oak casks. It presents candied fruit notes, reminding apricots and peaches integrated with smoke notes and dried fruit. In the mouth is very much alive, marked by a vibrant acidity and great volume. It's enveloping, with a long and very pleasant finish.
