Mourvedre Wine

Originally Spanish in origin, Mourvedre produces high alcohol, tannic wines that are grown throughout the Rhone and Provence regions of southern France.

In addition to its appearance in varietal wines, it appears commonly alongside Syrah and Grenache in blends, such as in the Cotes du Rhone and Chateauneuf du Pape. The grape has rised in prominence since the 1980s to become widly grown today.
