Smooth and round with a long finish. Nose of cooked red fruit, Black fruit and raisin on the palate, extremely velvety. A truly classy wine made by a dedicated wine-grower. The dominance of Grenache brings a sense of fullness and richness.
Aged at first for 12 months in foudres (large casks), some of which are century old like the cellar.

Domaine Pontifical
Family owned since the 1920s, this 15-hectare vineyard is now run by Francois Laget. Grenache is the dominant grape, complemented by Syrah, Mourvedre and Cinsault – and some particularly delicious white Chateauneuf du Pape is made in small quantities.
