Pineau des Charentes
The Pineau des Charentes dessert wines come from the region Cherente in Western France. This wine is made with fortified wine (vin de liqueur) with either fresh grape juice or lightly fermented grape must. A cognac eau-de-vie from the previous year's distillation is then added. This wine is best served cold in aperitif glasses.
