Gamay
The Gamay grape is found mainly in France and is famous in the Beaujolais region where it accounts for 98% of all the grapes grown there. It can be found in the Loire as well as the the Pinot Noir regions of Burgundy.
Gamay grapes are light bodied in style and fruity, and some do have the ability to age and resemble some Pinot Noirs. The grape is generally suited to making volume whilst also being quite hardy.
