Saint Julien

One of the prestigious commune appellations of the Haut-Médoc, on the left bank of the Gironde in Bordeaux, taking its name from the village of Saint-Julien-Beychevelle. Granted AOC status in 1936, it produces red wine exclusively, built chiefly on Cabernet Sauvignon blended with Merlot, grown on deep gravel soils.

Often considered to strike the perfect balance between the power of Pauillac and the elegance of Margaux, its wines are supple yet structured, with classic blackcurrant and cedar character developing complex notes of truffle, tobacco, earth, and smoke as they age.
