Saint Joseph

The St Joseph Appellation is located in northern Rhone, close to Crozes-Hermitage, Cornas, Hermitage, and Côte-Rôtie. Granted official AOC status in 1956, with now over 115 wine growers. The reds are exclusively Syrah, and the whites a blend of Marsanne and Roussanne, with approximately 90% of wine grapes being red varieties.

Saint Joseph is located in the northern part of the Rhone Valley. This area is approximately 1230 hectares, making this the biggest after Crozes-Hermitage.
