Located at the summit of the Fleurie appellation, this south-east-facing eastate is very sunny. It has borne its name since 1912 from an electrical pylon that was erected to protect the vineyard from hail. The builders of this pylon named it Niagara, as it was so grand.

Offering a deep ruby red, Beaujolais is more than just a wine; it's an agricultural region that produces as many as 2.3 billion bottles of red wine per year. This French wine is renowned for its fruity taste and robust structure and has been popular since the 19th century. Beaujolais wines are also rich in pigments of carotenoids which give the wines their characteristic dark purple hue. The wine is typically made from the Gamay grape which is one of the darkest of red grapes.
Created in September 1936, Fleurie is one of 10 Crus in Beaujolais, and is often known as the most feminine of them all, producing elegant wines with extraordinary finesse. “The Queen of Beaujolais” is also one of the most consistent in quality, thanks to the commune’s prestigious terroir: pink soils, ideal sun exposure and attractive elevation at altitudes averaging 340 metres.
Located in Beaujolais, the Bernard family grow their vines on the highest areas in the region. Their vines range from 40-60 years, with some that are 100 years old. The Berend brothers (Oliver and Bruno) follow organic farming practices throughout their winemaking. The vineyard was established in the 1940s, and has been passed down through the family.
