Saint Estèphe
The Saint Estèphe Appellation is located in the Médoc subregion in Bordeaux. Only producing red wines, the most popular vines grown are Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
This appellation gained official AOC status in 1936, with over 1200 ha of vineyards in this commune. These wines normally possess a deep colour and hold solid tannins. The best food pairings include Roast rib of beef, or Slow cooked lamb.
