Saint-Émilion Grand Cru: Chateau Orisse Du Casse

Situated in the beautiful South-West of France, Bordeaux is one of the country's largest wine-growing areas, covering over 125,000 hectares. A superior appellation within the prestigious Saint-Émilion area on the Right Bank of Bordeaux, distinguished from basic Saint-Émilion by stricter production rules, lower yields, and a longer ageing requirement that give wines of greater concentration and nuance. Like its parent appellation, it produces red wine exclusively, built chiefly on Merlot for roundness and richness, blended with Cabernet Franc for structure and herbal complexity. Grown on the region's varied clay, limestone, and gravel soils, the wines are fruit-forward and richly textured, showing red and black fruit, spice, and floral notes, often framed by oak.
