The Domaine Gilles Guerrin is located in Vergisson in the heart of the Burgundy Mâconnais crus - a small village between the famous rocks of the same name and Solutré.
Lovers of nature, Sylvie and Gilles settled in 1984, and today, alongside their daughter Blandine, they cultivate 13 hectares of vines divided into 3 appellations: Mâcon-Vergisson, Saint-Véran and Pouilly-Fuissé.
The region of Burgundy, also known as Bourgogne, has a rich and opulent history. In the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries, the Grand Duchy of Burgundy reached as far as Belgium and the North Sea, becoming renowned for its riches, culture, and wine. Building on vineyards planted by the Romans and later cultivated by medieval monks, the region established a winemaking legacy that endures today. Despite being geographically small, Burgundy produces some of the most expensive and sought-after wines in the world, its limestone soils lending them a uniquely appetising minerality that sets a Burgundy apart from its peers.
A village appellation within the Mâconnais in southern Burgundy, Macon-Charnay-les-Macon produces still white wines exclusively from Chardonnay. Named after the commune of Charnay-les-Macon, just west of the town of Macon, it benefits from limestone and clay soils and a mild, sunny climate. The wines are typically riper and rounder than those of Chablis further north, showing ripe orchard and citrus fruit with a supple texture and gentle minerality.
