Soft tannins and beautiful length for this wine produced from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Vineyard. Uses High Environmental Value Farm products in production
Situated in the beautiful South-West of France, Bordeaux is one of the country's largest wine-growing areas, covering over 125,000 hectares. With the Atlantic to the west, its coastal temperatures are moderated by the Gulf Stream, making it an ideal place for vines to thrive. The region produces a staggering 900 million bottles a year, ranging from large quantities of common Vin de Pays to some of the most prestigious and expensive wines in the world.
A region-wide Bordeaux appellation covering red and sweet white wines made across the same broad area as Bordeaux AOC, but under stricter production rules. Lower yields, riper grapes, and a minimum ageing period (at least nine months for the reds) give wines of greater concentration and depth. The reds are blends built chiefly on Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc, showing ripe red and dark fruit with added notes of cedar and liquorice from their oak ageing.
