Owner Thomas Thiou produces this wonderful wine on one of the top terroirs in the appellation. Fruity, creamy, very well balanced. A must taste!
Situated in the beautiful South-West of France, Bordeaux is one of the country's largest wine-growing areas, covering over 125,000 hectares. With the Atlantic to the west, its coastal temperatures are moderated by the Gulf Stream, making it an ideal place for vines to thrive. The region produces a staggering 900 million bottles a year, ranging from large quantities of common Vin de Pays to some of the most prestigious and expensive wines in the world.
One of the satellite appellations of Saint-Émilion, located around three miles to the north along the banks of the Barbanne river, on the Right Bank of Bordeaux. Covering some 1,570 hectares dedicated exclusively to red wine, it is built predominantly on Merlot (around 75% of plantings), with Cabernet Franc and a little Cabernet Sauvignon in support. The wines are supple, rounded, and fruit-forward, showing ripe red and dark fruit with soft tannins and good ageing potential. Sharing much of its famous neighbour's character, Montagne sits alongside the other satellites of Lussac, Puisseguin, and Saint-Georges Saint-Émilion.
