The open-up champagne flute (champagne glasses) has a long stem to avoid holding the body of the champagne glass, which would warm your champagne and sparkling wines. The large surface area towards the top of the champagne glass, combined with its narrow pointed bottom, encourages bubbles to remain straight. This allows the effervescence to concentrate in the top of the glass, enhancing both taste and aroma.
