Brother and sister, Pierre and Veronique took over from their parents in 1993 and have carefully maximised the huge potential of their estate. Their wines are superb, and constantly gain more and more recognition from discerning wine lovers and critics.
The vineyard has now more than doubled in size without diminishing the quality- quite a rare achievement. With Domaine Boudau actually based in Rivesaltes, it is of no surprise that also the famous dessert wines from this villages are also a great success.
Roussillon, though administratively merged with the Languedoc and Midi-Pyrénées into Occitanie since 2016, remains a distinct wine region with a strong Catalan identity, occupying the Pyrénées-Orientales in the far south of mainland France. Enjoying one of the sunniest, driest climates in the country and a varied terroir of schist, granite, limestone, and clay, it is best known for powerful, full-bodied reds built on Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Carignan, alongside rich whites. Above all, it is the historic home of France's vins doux naturels - fortified sweet wines such as Banyuls, Maury, and Rivesaltes. Today, a dynamic community of small, often old-vine growers is earning the region growing international recognition for its dry wines.
The principal AOC of the Roussillon wine region, in the far south of mainland France. Its wines are built chiefly on Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre, with Grenache the dominant variety in both the reds and rosés. Around 80% of production is dedicated to red wine — warm, full-bodied, and generous, with ripe dark fruit and the herbal character of the local garrigue — alongside smaller quantities of fresh rosé and rich, aromatic white. Benefiting from a sunny Mediterranean climate and varied soils, it produces characterful, food-friendly wines that express the region's distinctive Catalan terroir.
