Produced in the far south of Alsace, in the village of Steinbach, historically renowned for its high quality Pinot Noir (formerly called Steinbacher Roda, meaning 'the Red from Steinbach'). With the right ripeness, this wine offers an excellent ageing potential.

Vinification | Limited yields with Guyot pruning. Vines are planted on the south-east facing slopes. Sustainable farming practices to preserve the richness of its terroir. Long maceration in order to extract colour and tannins from the skin. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation between 18 and 22°C. Ageing in French oak casks for 18 months, followed by a long ageing in the bottle before release. |

Situated in Voegtlinshoffen near Colmar, the Domaine Joseph Cattin has been making its own wines for nearly 300 years. This is a family-run estate, managed by brothers Jacques and Jean-Marie, with the help of Jacques’ son (Jacques Jnr). The family’s watchwords are elegance and authenticity, and they use traditional methods for winemaking alongside new equipment for best results.
